Setting-up the Approval Process


Footsteps 2 features an approval process which allows you to review observations and assessments before they are added to a child's record. 

To enable the approval process in Footsteps 2, do the following:
  1.  On the Settings page, click/tap on the 'Manage' button on the Approval Process tile:



    This will open the Approval Process page:



  2.  If you have not enabled the approval process and wish to do so, click/tap on the 'Yes' button.
  3.  Set an approval permission for each user:

    1. Requires Approval - Staff can create observations and assessments, but they must be approved before they are published.
    2. Publisher - Users can create and publish their own observations and assessments without requiring approval.
    3. Approver - Users can create and publish their own observations and assessments, as well as being able to approve and/or reject others.

  4.  Click/tap on the 'Save' button.
  5.  Click/tap on the 'Back' button to return to the Settings page.

To disable the approval process in Footsteps 2, do the following:
  1.  On the Settings page, click/tap on the 'Manage' button on the Approval Process tile.
  2.  On the Approval Process page, click/tap on the 'No' button.
  3.  Click/tap on the 'Save' button.
  4.  Click/tap on the 'Back' button to return to the Settings page.
Please be aware that disabling the approval process will allow any user who previously required approval to publish observations and assessments without them being reviewed by another user.
