This guide walks you through inviting and resending Parent Portal invites from Portal > Administration > Parent Portal Status page.

Who Can Be Invited
ℹ️
A carer can only be invited if they hold Parental Responsibility for at least one child at your setting. Carers without Parental Responsibility (e.g. emergency contacts) will not appear as eligible.
Before sending an invite, check the following:
Parental Responsibility: The carer must be linked to a child as either the primary carer or a secondary carer with the Parental Responsibility option ticked within Abacus ➔ Families.
Email Address: The carer must have a valid email address recorded within Abacus ➔ Families.

Sending and Resending Invites
To invite or resend an invite to a carer, do the following:
Each row on the Parent Portal Status page shows a carer against a child, with a status pill:
Not invitedGrey — no invite has been sent yet.
InvitedBlue — an invite has been sent, but the carer hasn't used the app yet.
ActivatedGreen — the carer has logged in and used the app.
C
Find the carers you want to invite
Use the Search box to find a child or carer by name, or tick Hide already invited to only show carers who haven't been invited yet.
D
Select the carers
Tick the checkbox next to each carer you want to invite or resend an invite to.
ℹ️
Only carers with Parental Responsibility who aren't already Activated can be selected. Carers with a Not invited or Invited status are both selectable — selecting a mix of both is fine, the system sends new invites and resends existing ones together.
E
Click Send Invites
The button label updates based on your selection — Send Invites if any selected carer hasn't been invited yet, or Resend Invites if all selected carers have already been invited.
F
Review and confirm
A confirmation window lists what's about to happen:
Carers to invite — carers who haven't been sent an invite before.
Carers to resend — carers who've already been invited (this list is collapsed by default; click to expand it).
Cannot be invited — missing emailWarning — carers with no email on file. Add their email in Abacus ➔ Families first, then try again.
Click Send Invites to confirm and send invites.
G
Wait for sending to complete
A progress window shows invites being sent, with a live count of how many have gone out.

About Resent Invites
Resending an invite doesn't create a duplicate account. It resets the carer's temporary password and sends a new invite email to the same login. The temporary password expires after 4 days, so let carers know to log in and set their own password soon after receiving it.
