Room Movements Configuration
Abacus includes a number of handy time-saving features, one of these is automatic room movements:
When a child's age matches the criteria you have set, the system will automatically move them into the next room.
To configure your room movements, do the following:
- Click on the Settings button and select 'Rooms & Ratios':
- At the bottom of the page there are 3 options which control your room movements:
If you select the option: 'Upon reaching the minimum age of the next available room' children will be automatically moved into a new room which has a minimum age closest to the child's age.
For example: You have three rooms at your setting: Babies (0-18 months), Toddlers (12-36 months) & Kids (36-60 months). Child A is 11 months old and currently assigned to the Babies room.
A booking pattern from 04/09/2019 to 30/08/2024 is scheduled. The child will have the following room movements automatically scheduled:
04/09/19 to 05/01/20 Babies room
06/01/20 to 05/01/22 Toddlers room
06/01/22 to 30/08/24 Kids room
If you select the option: 'Upon reaching the maximum age of the current room' children will be automatically moved into a new room when their age is the same as the maximum age range of their current room.
04/09/19 to 05/07/20 Babies room
06/07/20 to 05/01/22 Toddlers room
06/01/22 to 30/08/24 Kids room
If you select the option: 'Don't move children automatically' then the system will not automatically create any room movements; when scheduling a child's booking pattern you will be asked which room to move them into if their age exceeds the maximum age of the room they are currently assigned to.
- Once you have made your selection, click on the 'Save' button.
From now on, all room movements will be based on the option you selected.
