Please note: Photo editing is a desktop-only feature and is not currently available within the Footsteps 2 app.
Footsteps 2 includes a suite of photo editing tools which allow you to rotate, crop, adjust the brightness and contrast and apply a selection of filters to any photo you add to an observation.
To edit a photo on an observation, do the following:
- Create or edit an observation.
- In the 'Photos & Videos' section you are able to capture a photo using the device's camera or upload any photo or video which has been saved to the device.
Accepted file formats are: GIF, JPG, JPEG and PNG.
- Once the photo has uploaded, click on the button underneath it to edit the photo.
- Click on the 'Edit' button:
Click on the editing tool you wish to use in the list on the right-hand side of the screen:
- To rotate a photo, simply click on the 'Rotate' button until the photo is the correct way around.
- To crop a photo, click on the 'Crop' button and click-and-drag to remove any unwanted areas of the photo, then click on the 'Apply Crop' button:
- To apply filters to a photo, click on the 'Filters' button and then choose a filter. You can preview each of the filters by clicking on them.
If you decide you do not want to use any of the photo filters you have previewed, click on the 'Original' option at the top of the list.
- To change the brightness and/or contrast of a photo, click on the 'Light' button and then click-and-drag the sliders to make adjustments:
- Once you have finished editing a photo you must click on the 'Done' button in the bottom right-hand corner of your screen to apply your changes.
- To return to the Observation form, click on the 'X' button or choose the 'Save Changes' option.
If you decide you do not want to save the changes you have made to the photo, click on the 'Cancel' button.
