Editing & Deleting Observations


Footsteps 2 allows you to quickly and easily edit any of the observations that have been created for children at your setting.

To edit a child's observation, do the following:
  1.  Click/tap on the 'View' button on the Recorded Observations tile on the Observations Menu page:


    This will open the Observations List page:



  2.  Locate the required child by scrolling through the list or using the search tool.
  3.  Click/tap on one of the numbered circles to view observations which cover the selected EYFS area. For example:



  4.  Click/tap on the observation to edit it. The Observation form will open and you will be able to make your changes.
  5.  Once you have finished making changes, click/tap on the arrow next to the 'Save and Continue' button and select the 'Complete Observation' option. 

To delete a child's observation, do the following:
  1.  Click/tap on the 'View' button on the Recorded Observations tile on the Observations Menu page.
     This will open the Observations List page.

  2.  Locate the required child by scrolling through the list or using the search tool.
  3.  Click/tap on one of the numbered circles to view observations which cover the selected EYFS area.
  4.  Click/tap on the bin button  for the observation you wish to delete.
  5.  An alert will be displayed asking you to confirm that you wish to delete the observation. For example:



  6.  Click/tap on the 'Delete' button.
     The alert will close and a green banner will appear across the top of your screen confirming that the observation has been deleted.
     If you click/tap on the 'Cancel' button the alert will close and the observation will remain in the system.
