Adding Families

Adding Families


To add a new family into your Abacus system, do the following:
  1. Click on the Families button and select 'Add Family'


    The 'Add Family' form will be displayed:



  2.  First enter the primary carer's details in the 'Add Primary Carer' section of the form. 
     All fields marked with a red asterisk  are mandatory.
  3.  You can enter the carer's bank details by clicking on the 'More...' button:



  4.  If you click on the 'More...' button again you will be able to select options which are applicable to the carer:



  5.  Next, enter the child's details in the 'Add Child' section of the form. You can add other children to the family once it has been saved, please refer to the Add Child article for more information.
     All fields marked with a red asterisk  are mandatory.
  6.  You can apply a discount to the child's account and record details of any deposits paid by clicking on the 'More...' button:



  7.  If you click on the 'More...' button again you will be able to select options which are applicable to the child:



  8.  If you click on the 'More...' button again you will be able to record if there are any court orders in place, or if social services are involved in the child's care:



  9.  You can add any notes about the carer or child in the notes fields.
  10.  Click on the 'Save' button to add the family.
  11.  The new family will now be added to the list on the Families tab.
