If a child has more than one parent or carer who pays their invoices, or someone other than the child's primary carer pays their invoices you will need to add a secondary bill payer to the child's account.
To add a secondary bill payer to a child's account, do the following:
Click on the Children button and select 'Accounts':
Select a child from the list and click on the 'Bill Payer' tab:
Click on the 'Edit Bill Payer' button The Bill Payers page will be displayed:
Select a bill payer from the dropdown field.
If the bill payer is not listed in the dropdown field, click on the 'Add' button to select them from the carer list:
Enter the carer's relationship to the child and click on the 'Save' button.
On the Bill Payers page, choose if the selected bill payer will pay a fixed amount or a percentage of the invoice.
Enter the amount the bill payer will pay. For example:
Click on the 'Add' button
Click on the 'Save' button. All of the child's bill payers will be displayed on the Bill Payer tab:
A separate invoice will be produced for each bill payer; the child's primary carer will show an amount of £0.00 but they will be asked to pay the child's remaining balance after taking into account the secondary bill payer's contribution.
In the example above, the secondary bill payer is set to pay 50%, meaning that the child's primary carer would receive an invoice for the remaining 50%. If a child had an invoice for £1000 and a secondary bill payer was set to pay a fixed amount of £250, the child's primary carer would receive an invoice for the remaining £750.
